Task: 1988 Memorial, Cologne, Nov. 2024

A memorial event is to be held in Cologne, Germany, on 22 November 2024. This will commemorate the victims of the 1988 massacre.

A plan is to project the names of the murdered, one by one, using an automated slide-show. Each slide will present the first and last names of a victim.

Sub-Tasks:
  1. Get the Excel file which has the names.
  2. Are the names written in German?
  3. Ensure that a laptop will be available.
  4. Determine whether PowerPoint offers a timed, automated slide-show.
  5. How is the laptop screen to be projected?
  6. Will the wiring/adapters/wifi be available? If the laptop will travel with someone, will its plug need an adapter?
  7. How is the event to be publicized?
  8. Who will be the intended Audience?
  9. In which language(s) will the event be held?
  10. When is the deadline for completion of this task? Can a file be sent online, the week before the event, to test?
  11. Is there someone available to test it much earlier?
  12. Will a projection screen be available, or will a wall be used? If the latter, are we sure that there is a large-enough, bare wall present?
  13. Find a volunteer who will create a PowerPoint file.

Info requested from Lawdan.

Sorry about the late reply. It seems that there is still configuration work to do, on the forum, for sending notification. I'll look into it.

As for #13, please do.
Of course, all the other sub-tasks have to be done first.

No photos. Names, only. Ask Lawdan

I don't have the list.
AFAIK it is only names, not photos.

Why would you want to translate for _names_?! At most, the way the names are written in German would be different from the way they'd be written in English. IOW, romanization varies with the target language. A translator won't do this sort of thing.
I'd not worry about this. English would be fine.

If you're taking-on this task, then you may be able to find the names _on-line_ eg from the Boroumand Centre, or any publicly-available documents from the Nouri trial. If you can find a way of contacting them, any of the people/families on https://iranians4justice.com/ may be able to point you in the right direction.

Lawdan has not responded to my query with respect to this task. Feel free to try yourself! :-)

I asked Lawdan, again, to answer some of the questions in the OP. As always, she is busy.
